What is the blueprint for success for an organization? How does a corporation maintain accountability and display transparency and quality? Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is defined in the financial times as a business approach that contributes to the sustainable development by delivering economic, social and environmental benefits for all stakeholders. There are many different concepts of CSR as well as practices. Depending on the business philosophy it can be implemented in various fashions. Everyday Citizens raise the question about business they patronize, that does a company’s claim of products and services results from usage really add to the worth of our existence, or do they produce adverse effects or contribute to the low-quality? And how are the profits gained distributed? Are the profits shared annually across the board with team members, mom and pop businesses via donations and partnerships and low and underserved neighborhoods offered part-time to full time employee opportunities? Charitable is another stage in CSR. â€Å"In the Age of Philanthropy is where a company supports various social and environmental causes through donations and sponsorships, typically administered through a Foundation, Trust or Chairman’s Fund and aimed at empowering community groups or civil society organizations.† Unfortunately many corporations do not give back to the community in which they do business in.
